Video conversion is something that everyone should be familiar with nowadays in order to watch footage on the widest range of devices available.

Movavi Video Converter aims to make this process simple, painless, fast and as easy as possible. It's a powerful video converter and DVD ripper, providing preset conversion rules for all major formats. The interface in Movavi Video Converter is well laid out with a large built-in player that lets you preview the video inside the program. At the bottom you'll find drop-down menus that allow you to define conversions by device type - such as iPod, iPhone, Sony PSP, Blackberry, Microsoft Zune and Creative Zen - or a specific conversion standard.

The Movavi Video Converter built-in editor lets you preview footage but doesn't seem to allow editing of it, which is a bit frustrating. There are therefore no tools for cropping or rotating the image, adjust brightness and contrast, save a specific frame or add a watermark. It does, however, allow you to join clips, which is useful if you've downloaded a clip of more than 10 minutes from YouTube.

Movavi Video Converter is an attractive and easy-to-use tool thanks to it's clear interface and presets. However, it's a shame that you have little control over editing the footage before you convert.
