Who's The Villain? Who Lives And Who Dies? The Town Votes.
Town of Salem is an online multiplayer game where you take one of 33 roles in a game of 7 to 15 players. You and the other players walk around, discuss your fellows and vote for who should die at the end of each night. Your goal? Root out the town's villains, from among your fellow players, before they outnumber you. But they can kill each other and you, too...
More Colour Than Noir
In contrast to the traditional "mafia" setup of similar games, Town of Salem has colourful, sprite-based graphics that don't necessarily reflect the amount of violence and strangeness that can happen in the game. The graphics are crisp and clean, though most animations contain only a few frames. The game's various roles can do a variety of different things, particularly at night after each vote, and even the innocent, majority town has a few powerful allies among the 33 roles.
Fun For The Family? Maybe
Overall, Town of Salem is simple to pick up if you've played mafia before, its variety of roles the only real challenge. The graphics (and admins) make for a more family-friendly game, for the most part. Mafia vets and older players with family will probably like this title.
